this place looks otherworldly --i imagine it must be very peaceful to walk around there--especially by yourself or with a small group--it looks like a silent place
I've enjoy this set of pictures Jules, and your comment about how he died had both me and Jane giggling. The designs on the walls can still be seen on things now.
Glad to see the Phone Lines are working.
Peter is sat behind me as I'm typing this, he's eating the biggest piece of Belly Pork I've ever seen. He turned up before with a smile on his face from ear to ear because of a picture he took of a building and what he noticed on it. I think he told me to say hello between monthfuls of crunchy pork skin. ha!
Nice historical building. According to history some ancient chinese emperors had many concubines (some as many as 2,500 to 3000 but the poor emperors dont get to see all the concubines. Sometimes he get to see those chosen by the empress.
Alice - i guess she would have picked the oldest and most unattractive!!!
Tom - say hi to pete - will pop in and visit him later today and see what he has been up to!!!
d,chedwick bryant - you are spot on - it was truly wonderful to be there almost alone - we had a private tour and it was so good not to have hordes of noisy tourists with us!!! What a magical experience. Except for the most popular places a lot of Vietnam is like this - quiet!!!!

Wow! That relief dragon is astonishing, Jules. And the carved screen.
With 103 concubines I suspect he really got nagged to death (OW! … Sorry).
