Not far from the outskirts of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) these Cambodian refugees have made a life for themselves on the river. They have been here since the American War, as it is called in Vietnam.

Kinda looks scary, but very nice pics and blog.
A timely reminder, Jules. Most Americans aren't taught that Kissinger and Nixon bombed the crap out of Cambodia and tried to hush it up.
I'm glad some people managed to survive the carnage.
It looks they they are living in floodwaters it looks kind of sad.
the top photo really amazes me though, with the steps and the statue.
I realize when I speak to young people of 20-30 they know next to nothing about Vietnam....scary, so many people lost their lives and it doesn't even register with them...as will all other wars...useless
Interesting photos of the house boats but i dont think I like to stay in one.
