Ducks like the wet and so do water buffaloes. In the rice paddies around Sapa water buffaloes are invaluable to the farmers, and unlike the farmers don't mind being out in the rain..
These umberellas pop up a lot of your posts... who ever sells them must be rich. I find it funny to see them in the fields and on another post riding bikes while holding an umberella. great post... These Water Buffaloes are not what you would call pretty

Tom - I hadn't thought of it but yes - the umbrellas are very popular. We bought one each and a raincoat when we were there!!!
